TrainR4U · Training Robot for Ultrassound
The Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu participates in the TrainR4U educational project that will offer an ultrasound training learning program through a combination of online learning, practical training and performance evaluation.
The online theoretical learning plan will be accredited through academic institutions and co-created with recognized ultrasound experts. For practical training, training hubs will be created in different countries, where each hub will be formed, on the one hand, by a teacher (expert mentor) and, on the other hand, by the students (trainees). ). In addition to having standard ultrasound probes on site, in practice, two stations will be connected to offer innovative robot-assisted co-manipulation: the mentor (remote) and the on-site robotic system will work along with shared control to perform training. Through the robotic system, the student can feel, in real-time, the position corrections that the mentor will make. Finally, it will provide enough information for the student to adjust the direction and force applied to the ultrasound probe to capture the necessary images.
